The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are advancing to the National Championship game of the College Football Playoff after taking down the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Orange Bowl.
The 27-24 victory by the Irish is one of the greatest wins in Notre Dame football history. After going down 10-0 to PSU in the first half, Notre Dame fought their way to a 17-10 lead — which lead to a fourth quarter offensive explosion by both teams.
The ending, however, is what really makes this game magical. Penn State didn’t have to do much of anything and we would have been heading to overtime.
