Fifteen entire days will pass, mostly in late September but a couple in early October, with Clemson not playing in a single football game. And every one of them will be spent writing and talking about Notre Dame, the biggest brand in college sports.
Scribes, radio hosts and Tim Bourret aren’t the only ones delighted by the long layoff. Dabo Swinney, Brent Venables, Tony Elliott and the Tigers’ coaches undoubtedly will be relieved to finally have a decent chunk of time to prepare for one single opponent and scheme.
