Tim Brown and Jerome Bettis both managed to carve their paths all the way from Notre Dame 20-some years ago to the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, tonight. But, my oh my, the paths they took to get here couldn’t be more different.
All the way back to when he was a budding superstar growing up in Dallas, Brown was always a model of class, a leader by example, a terrific role model and eventually a Notre Dame graduate.
Bettis, well, he was once a crack dealer in his hometown of Detroit, he admittedly shot at people during that time and he had no interest in graduating from college, only to use Notre Dame as a stepping stone to the NFL.
