A week after the Irish were the big loser among the winners of the on-field action after struggling to beat Boston College, Notre Dame scored a win of sorts with the committee by staying in the all-important Top 8 after losing to Stanford 38-36.
Barring anything crazy happening during conference championship weekend, the top four will likely remain No. 1 Clemson, No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Oklahoma, and the winner of the Big Ten championship game, Michigan State or Iowa, at No.
