In the 4th round with the 130th pick of the NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers selected linebacker Drue Tranquill. This is the second member of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish that the Chargers have selected in this draft as they took defensive tackle Jerry Tillery in the first round.
Tranquill has one of the more interesting careers in the draft as he started out as a safety at Notre Dame, moved to a Rover position, and then moved inside to the Buck linebacker. He has also battled two different ACL tears — but came back from both at a record pace.
