The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have been at the top of the college football world all season, but they're also making major waves on the recruiting trail. Here's all the latest surrounding Notre Dame's recruiting efforts:
Irish Lead For All-American Wide Receiver
Notre Dame is still in front for U.S. Army All-American wide reciever Javon McKinley, according to Tom Loy of 247sports:
Dating back to the summer McKinley has voiced that Notre Dame was a top contender. He even said at the Los Angeles Nike Football The Opening Regional in the spring that he was strongly considering leaving the West Coast and if he did, that he’d be headed to Notre Dame. Not mentioned is UCLA.
McKinley plans to take an official there. The Bruins could certainly make a move. Sources around The Gug think this one comes down to what kind of blessing McKinley gets to leave home from his mother. If she’s all about Notre Dame that will rub off on her son. Everything we’ve heard indicates that McKinley’s mother likes Notre Dame.
McKinley said he plans to announce his decision during the Army All-America Game.
Four-Star RB Close To Announcing Decision
Four-star back Damian Alloway (Fontana, CA) says he's "50-50" between his final two schools, Notre Damen and UCLA, and Alloway said he'll wait to amke a final decision once he visits UCLA.
“Whatever offense I go to, however they want to use me is how I’ll be used,” said Alloway. “Talking to some schools, they want to use my versatility and use me in the backfield. My predicting myself, I see myself in the slot really perfecting my craft, catching, working with my hands, and doing damage on linebackers in college.”
Alloway said his final decision will come down to a "gut feeling."
“Both places are great,” said Bartow. “Both places will give me an opportunity to play football and grow education-wise. I just think I’m going to go with my gut. I’m going to think about it by myself. I’m going to take all the opinions I can and then get to a quiet place, think about it to myself and then make a decision.”
Alloway is ranked as they No. 173 overall player in the country and No. 4 all-purpose back in the nation.
Four-Star CB Leaning Towards Notre Dame
Four-star cornerback Troy Pride Jr. (Greer, SC) isn't making a commitment now, but if he had to, he'd sign with Notre Dame, according to 247sports.
Pride took an official to Notre Dame for the USC game earlier this season, and he says he could return after the season for ND's end-of-year banquet.
Price, a former Virginia Tech commit, also has South Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, North Carolina, and VT on his list.
