Four-star defensive back Jordan Fuller (Westwood, NJ) just completed his first visit to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and he says the program made a big impression on him.
"I'd say they're up there now," said Fuller, via 247sports. "They're definitely up there now. We got there and took a tour of the Gug. Then we took a tour of campus and got a chance to speak with Adam Sargent and the academic advisors, and then went and met with the coaching staff. We talked with head coach Brian Kelly, coach Brian VanGorder, coach Todd Lyght and coach Paul Longo."
He said he was very impressed with the way the coaching staff did a good job of expressing not only what they could do for Fuller, but what Fuller can do for the team:
"They were selling Notre Dame as a really, really good opportunity for me. It's one of the most expensive scholarships you can get and I'd be able to go there for free. They told me that the degree truly means something in the world and it could help me with my future. They said that they can help me and that I can help them with my athletic ability and my play in the secondary.
"Coach VanGorder coached in the NFL and is really smart defensively, Coach Lyght has played in the NFL and coached in the NFL. He has done everything that I want to do. He's a big role model for me and I look up to him in those ways."
Fuller says the staff wants to play him free safety in Notre Dame's defensive scheme, but they love his versatility and ability to play safety or cornerback.
He is ranked as the No. 86 overall player in the nation, No. 6 athlete in the country, and No. 2 prospect in New Jersey from the class of 2016.
