The Notre Dame Fighting Irish benefited from losses by formerly-undefeated Utah and Florida State this week, moving up from #11 to #9 in the AP Poll. That's not the only big news from the bye week, as there is plenty on the recruiting trail to discuss with the coaches free for the weekend. Here's our Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football: Recruiting Roundup For The Bye Week.
3-Star LB To Walk On At Notre Dame
The Irish picked up a huge coup on Saturday as 3-star Chattanooga (TN) Baylor School linebacker Ryan Parker announced that he will walk on and attend school in South Bend.

Parker bypassed 13 scholarship offers, including one from Stanford.
Notre Dame On Top For Daelin Hayes
Four-star Ann Arbor (MI) Skyline outside linebacker Daelin Hayes is reportedly leaning heavy in favor of the Irish over his in-state Michigan Wolverines, and one major reason for that is Hayes' general assessment of life on campus in South Bend.
Per Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports, the website "was told this week one of the big reasons why ND leads for the U.S. Army All-American out of Ann Arbor (Mich.) Skyline is because he already sees himself socially at the school. Hayes's personality fits the culture at ND."
Keep an eye out for Michigan State and Ohio State, however. They're considered dark horses for the #9 OLB in the Class of 2016.
Did Javon McKinley Almost Commit?
According to sources close to the program, four-star Corona (CA) Centennial wide receiver Javon McKinley mulled over committing to Notre Dame on the spot during his official.
However, McKinley chose not to offer a verbal as not to disrespect other programs that he's slated to visit. Washington, Oregon and UCLA are all reportedly in strong position behind the Irish at the present moment.
McKinley is currently ranked as the #18 wide receiver in the 2016 recruiting class, according to 247Sports' composite rankings system.
