Banks chose the Irish over finalists Cal, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Tennessee and UCLA, but many believe the decision came down to either Michigan or Notre Dame.
He only took official visits to three schools, going to Oregon (Sept. 10), Notre Dame (Sept. 17) and Michigan (Nov. 5). He also made unofficial visits to Oregon and Oregon State in April and to Notre Dame, Michigan and Arizona State in August.
The 6-foot-7, 315-pounder is ranked as the No. 19 offensive tackle and No. 172 overall prospect in the country, according to 247sports' Composite Rankings.
