2016 four-star Corona (CA) Centennial wide receiver Javon McKinley has a long offer list full of some of the nation's top college football programs. However, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish stand as the only team on his visit list so far.
The 6-foot-2, 203-pound wideout visited South Bend back on April 25th, and he will return for Irish Invasion on June 19th.
"One unofficial visit to Notre Dame," McKinley said about his summer plans, via 247Sports. "I want to go connect with the players. I know the coaches well, but I haven't had a chance to connect with those guys. That's big for me. It'll be the Irish Invasion. I'm going for the interaction with the guys up there. That's what I'm looking forward to most. I've seen the facilities and been through all that, but this is about getting to know everyone better. I'm not competing or working out though."
USC is considered by many to be the leader for McKinley at this juncture, but Notre Dame is close and may very well fit the bill for what he is looking for out of a school.
"A lot of factors," McKinley said about what will go into his decision-making process. "The academics. Do they have the program I want? Will they let me take it? Will I be able to start as a true freshman? Do I get along well with the coaching staff? How long are they going to be there? Am I going to be getting new coaches in and out? It's a lot of things."
