The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will have to fend off the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes for the services of coveted four-star 2016 offensive tackle Liam Eichenberg.
Per Alex Glietman of 247Sports, "Ohio State co-offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Ed Warinner and co-defensive coordinator/linebacker coach Luke Fickell were at Cleveland (OH) St. Ignatius [on Friday] to check on 2015 commit DL Dre'Mont Jones, as well as 2016 OL Liam Eichenberg."

The Ohio State Buckeyes' visit came shortly after Notre Dame visited Eichenberg, with the two schools jockeying as favorites to land the talented offensive lineman.
Eichenberg previously indicated to 247Sports that his decision could come "whenever it felt right" and that his top three is some combination of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Michigan Wolverines. With another year until he can enroll, don't be surprised if the other schools aggressively look to flip Eichenberg as soon as he commits.
