The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are technically still waiting on a decision from five-star WR Demetris Robinson, who likely won't decide until next week. While the Irish wait to see if they get one more player for their 2016 class, Notre Dame has already turned its attention to the 2017 class.
Since arriving in South Bend, head coach Brian Kelly has done a pretty good job of bringing in balanced classes. Of course, he hasn't been perfect in that regard and some classes need to be heavier at one position than others. While much of Notre Dame's 2017 class will just be foucsed on getting talented players, there are few positions the Irish must address. With that in mind, here are the 3 Biggest Team Needs For Notre Dame In The 2017 Recruiting Class:
3. Secondary
The Irish brought in seven secondary members in the 2016 class, which is a big help. But the Irish are set to lose six players from the secondary after this year, including three likely starters. That's a ton of attrition and Notre Dame will need to bring in some more talent in the 2017 recruiting class.
2. Linebacker
The good news for Notre Dame is that the Irish only lose one player at all three linebacker spots. The downside is that they can only go two-deep at the position. The Irish need to add some depth this recruiting cycle and sign 2-3 players. For more Notre Dame news, download the Chat Sports Android and iPhone app.
1. Offensive Line
Offensive line is easily the biggest need for Notre Dame. Notre Dame has six seniors on the line, although one or two could possibly return for a fifth year. The team signed three players this cycle. That will help, but the Irish need to add a few more this cycle. Luckily for Notre Dame, they've already picked up two commitments in four-star Josh Lugg and three-star Dillan Gibbons.
