Norwich City Under-23s got more minutes in the tank as they took a 2-1 loss to Southend United in their final game of the pre-season on Tuesday evening.
The senior Southend side started the game on the front foot with a triplet of chances, Joe Rose parrying a shot away and the Blues crashing a shot off the crossbar before firing over in their first threat of the game.
Dominating the early stages of the game, the Blues soon forced a mistake from City as Joe Rose took Rhys Murphy down inside the 18-yard box, the referee awarding Southend the penalty.
