Norwich City beat fellow Championship side Birmingham City on penalties to reach the Carabao Cup second round after giving up a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at Carrow Road.
The Canaries looked bang on course for a routine first-round win when they stunned Blues with two goals in first-half injury time from Daniel Sinani and Jacob Sorensen.
But Jonathan Leko pulled one back on 53 minutes before Blues levelled from a 77th-minute corner after the ball went in off home defender Jonathan Tomkinson.
The first two penalties in the shootout were missed, by Kenny McLean for Norwich, then Sam Cosgrove for Blues, whose effort was saved by Angus Gunn.
