Luton are backing new boss Matt Bloomfield by agreeing a fee of £3million for Wigan’s exciting prospect Thelo Aasgaard.
With The Hatters in the Championship relegation zone, they’ve moved quickly to see off interest from Norwich, Blackburn and Stoke in the 22-year-old playmaker who has scored 12 times this season.
Aasgaard has played for Norway under-21s and after making his Wigan debut in 2020 signed a five-year contract with the club in 2023.
Latics manager Shaun Maloney, a member of their 2013 FA Cup-winning team, admitted earlier in the transfer window that Aasgaard may be sold.
