Liverpool and Arsenal attempted to land Norwich wonder kid James Maddison in 2014 – but an injury scuppered his switch to the Premier League.
The midfielder was a Coventry City player at the time and the teenager's performances for the Sky Blues had attracted the attention of the big guns.
And his then-manager, Steven Pressley, has now revealed that he was at an advanced stage of negotiations with both Arsenal and Liverpool only for an ankle injury to prevent any switch.
Instead the 19-year-old joined Norwich in February of this year and has since moved to Aberdeen on loan until January, where he has scored two goals in his first three SPL games, including a stunning free-kick against Rangers.
