Tim Krul started and played the full 90 minutes as the Netherlands came through the first of two EURO 2020 warm-up matches against Scotland on Wednesday evening.
The Netherlands drew 2-2 with the Scots, twice coming from behind to level with goals from Memphis Depay (2) cancelling out goals from Jack Hendry and Kevin Nisbet.
Krul was due to come up against City teammate Grant Hanley but he was forced to miss the game after being told to self-isolate following Sheffield United midfielder John Fleck's positive COVID-19 test.
The City skipper is still expected to feature in Scotland's final warm-up game against Luxembourg on Sunday, before their EURO 2020 opener against Czech Republic on Monday, June 14.
