Norwich City Head Coach Daniel Farke said fate was not on his team’s side, after a host of good chances went begging for the Canaries in Thursday’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
“We have to stay self-critical, but I can’t ask the lads to do much more,” he added. “We dominated the game from the first to the last second and were by far the better side, creating an unbelievable amount of chances. We didn’t allow them to have many. We had more possession and shots and won duels. We were unbelievably unlucky.”
The boss was clearly disappointed with the awarding of Villa’s goal, as Conor Hourihane scored shortly after a throw-in was seemingly incorrectly awarded to the home side.
