Alex Neil insisted Norwich should have wrapped up the points by half-time after seeing his side's Sky Bet Championship play-off hopes dented by a 1-1 draw against Bristol City.
The visitors went in 1-0 up at Ashton Gate thanks to a 25-yard shot from Yanic Wildschut on 39 minutes, but defender Bailey Wright equalised with his first goal for the Robins 12 minutes from time.
A frustrated Neil said: 'We have let a great opportunity slip. If we had converted even one of some great first-half chances the game would have been over.
'Steven Naismith has failed to score one-on-one with the keeper and we had other openings created by some really good attacking play.
