Having now played Plymouth Argyle, Newport County and Cheltenham Town in the Papa John’s Trophy, Norwich City Under-21s centre-back Andrew Omobamidele is happy with the opportunities the tournament has provided.
Nevertheless, there was disappointment that the Canaries left the Jonny-Rocks Stadium empty handed on Tuesday following a 1-0 defeat to Cheltenham.
“Obviously, the team is very disappointed because it’s a game we thought we could have gone and won,” he said. “We played well in the first half; they were just a bit comfortable I think in the second half.
“Defensively, we asked way more questions of them but just lacked that bit of quality in the final third – maybe that final pass we over-hit or under-hit – so we were just missing that bit of quality today.
