Kenny McLean is set to complete a £150,000 switch to Norwich City within the next 24 hours but the midfielder will be loaned back to Aberdeen for the rest of the season.
The 26-year-old headed south for talks with the Carrow Road club after starring in Saturday’s 4-1 Scottish Cup win over Championship leaders St Mirren at Pittodrie.
There were a number of interested parties but McLean has now agreed a deal to join the Canaries until the summer of 2021 after they jumped to the head of the queue by agreeing to pay a fee.
Unusually, though, the Scotland international will return to Pittodrie to finish out the season with the Dons.
