The defending Big Ten Champions have gotten their season off to a good start. With 4-3 wins over 22nd-ranked UCF on Saturday and 17th-ranked Miami on Sunday, Northwestern women’s tennis (3-1) clinched one of fifteen at-large bids to the ITA National Indoor Championships in two weeks, doing so for the first time in five years.
Despite the loss of top singles player Erin Larner, third singles player Maddie Lipp, and fourth/sixth singles player Alex Chatt, each of whom played doubles as well, the Wildcats haven’t broken stride. After an easy 7-0 win against UIC and a 5-2 loss to Kansas in Lawrence, Northwestern returned to Evanston and swept through the ITA Kickoff Weekend Event.
