Chris Collins may have his big man of the future, as 2019 center Jared Jones announced his commitment to Northwestern Sunday evening.
Jones committed to Auburn way back in September of 2016, but de-committed in June 2017. The Powder Springs, Ga. native held offers from Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Georgia, and Minnesota. Jones has a composite rating of .899 from 247Sports.com, which places him as the 180th-best prospect in his class. Standing 6-foot-9, he’s a bit small for a center, but he’s got a similar physical profile as NU’s current center Dererk Pardon (6-foot-8, 235 pounds).
Jones becomes the second member of Northwestern’s 2019 class, joining combo guard Daniel Buie.
