Former Northwestern player and assistant coach Tavaras Hardy has landed his first head coaching job. He was named as the next coach of the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds on Wednesday morning.
Hardy spent the past 12 seasons as an assistant coach at three different Power 6 schools. He was on Bill Carmody’s staff from 2007-2013, helping recruit the likes of Jershon Cobb and Drew Crawford. Then he spent three seasons and Georgetown and the last two at Georgia Tech.
Of course, Hardy starred as a player at Northwestern from 1998-2002. The Joliet, IL native was a two-time All-Big Ten honoree and is 29th in program history in scoring.
