Northwestern basketball may not be in the best place on the college front, but its pro representation got a little stronger today. Former NU guard Reggie Hearn signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, adding to a short list of ‘Cats fighting for a spot on NBA rosters.
Hearn was a productive member of the NU basketball team under Bill Carmody, starting as a walk on before earning a scholarship. The Fort Wayne native averaged 13.4 points per game in his senior season.
After graduating from Northwestern, Hearn found a spot in the G-league before bouncing around a couple of NBA teams, including the Kings and Pistons (the latter of whom he scored his first points at the highest level for).
