WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Stop me if you’ve heard this one before — Northwestern basketball had a good shot to win a game against a quality opponent, but just couldn’t pull it off.
The Wildcats (5-2) were faced with a familiar situation in their road contest against Wake Forest (7-1), but just didn’t have enough to get over the finish line, ultimately dropping the game 77-73 in overtime.
Playing without a real offensive leader for much of the contest, the ‘Cats began to rely on Pete Nance late in regulation, and he finished with a team-high 15 points while bringing in seven rebounds and dishing out five assists.
