Northwestern lands first defensive transfer of offseason

Former Old Dominion defensive tackle Jeremy Meiser announced on Wednesday his intention to transfer to Northwestern.

Meiser committed to Old Dominion in 2016 from Ohio’s storied Archbishop Moeller High School, which produced talents such as Ken Griffey Jr., Barry Larkin, and Jaxson Hayes. As a consensus two-star recruit, Meiser chose ODU over 16 other offers including several Group of Five and Ivy league programs.

Meiser started a combined 19 games in 2018 and 2019 for the Monarchs and was named a team captain for the 2019 season. Although Old Dominion was forced to cancel its 2020 season due to Covid-19 concerns, Meiser registered 24 tackles, including five for a loss, in 2019.
