Redshirt sophomore linebacker Nathan Fox will miss Saturday’s game against Wisconsin with an undisclosed injury, the program announced on Thursday evening.
With Paddy Fisher assuming the starting MIKE position, Fox has been firmly entrenched on the second-team two-deep depth chart in 2017. He has, however, seen plenty of playing time this season recording eight tackles, four of the solo variety.
The absence of Fox will challenge Northwestern’s already thin group of linebackers that will be tasked with handling Wisconsin’s much vaunted rushing attack. Fellow middle linebacker Jango Glackin was carted off the field against Bowling Green after suffering a shoulder injury, and it’s unlikely we see him again this season.
