Jordan Wilimovsky’s journey at the Rio Olympics concludes Tuesday morning when he swims in the 10k marathon open water swim.
Wilimovsky is the defending world champion in the event after he took the crown last year at World Championships in Kazan, Russia. He has already had a grueling Olympics and faces a very short turnaround from his previous event, the 1500m freestyle. Wilimovsky made it through heats, qualifying third with a then-personal best. Then on Saturday night, he further lowered his personal best but fell just short of the podium, coming in fourth.
