Former Northwestern RB Xavier Menifield facing weapons charges, per report

This is the second run-in an NU football player has had with the law this year.

Running back Xavier Menifield is no longer with the Northwestern football team, and today we found out why. Menifield is facing weapons charges for having a rifle and metal knuckles in his car while it was parked at Ryan Field, as well as ammunition in his dorm room, according to the Chicago Tribune:

Xavier Menifield, 19, a running back from Valencia, Calif., was charged March 16 with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, a felony, for having an unloaded rifle in his vehicle, parked outside Ryan Field, records say.
