Former Northwestern goalkeeper Tyler Miller makes first MLS start for Seattle Sounders

Former Northwestern soccer goalkeeper Tyler Miller made his first career start today for the Seattle Sounders in their second game of the 2016 Major League Soccer season against Real Salt Lake.

The match can be followed here.

Miller is starting in place of regular goalkeeper Stefan Frei, who is out with an injury. Frei's injury is not expected to be serious, but while he remains sidelined, Miller figures to be coach Sigi Schmidt's first choice in goal.

Miller signed with the Sounders this past offseason after spending half a season with SVN Zweibrucken in a German fourth division.
