Northwestern’s Sky Team continues to rack up the awards this season, as safety Brandon Joseph and cornerback Greg Newsome II both received Associated Press All-American honors. Joseph was named to the first team while Newsome earned third-team honors.
The redshirt freshman safety adds another prestigious award to his long list of accolades in his debut season. He was the only freshman to make the first team this team. He is also the first NU player to earn the honor since Jeff Budzien in 2013, the first defensive player since Pat Fitzgerald in 1996 and the first freshman since Tom Myers in 1962.
