The Wildcats went back to Texas to snag their ninth commitment of the 2019 class, as three-star defensive lineman Jason Gold Jr. announced his pledge to Northwestern on Saturday afternoon.
The League City, Tex. native had a host of regional Power Five offers, including TCU, Oklahoma State, and Missouri. Gold visited TCU a couple weeks ago, and 247Sports.com had him predicted to commit to the Horned Frogs. Nonetheless, Gold Jr. picked up a Northwestern offer on April 23 and made it official yesterday.
Gold Jr. is listed as a strong-side defensive end, but he also plays a lot of defensive tackle in high school.
