CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — The Oklahoma wrestling team may not be coming back to Iowa any time soon after what Iowa State and Northern Iowa did to them on Sunday afternoon at the McLeod Center.
For the second-straight week, both the Cyclones and the Panthers were in the same building wrestling the same opponent. Last week, No. 13 Missouri thrashed them both at Hilton Coliseum. This Sunday, both beat up on the 23rd-ranked Sooners.
Iowa State, ranked 14th nationally by Trackwrestling, opened with an 18-16 win over Oklahoma. The Cyclones overcame two ties and three lead changes, as well as a loss by fall at 149 pounds, to improve to 4-1 overall and 1-0 against Big 12 competition.
