CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — A suffocating defensive effort and a strong running game propelled Northern Iowa to a second straight top-10 upset, as the Panthers knocked off No. 9 Youngstown State,19-14, Saturday at the UNI-Dome.

UNI (4-3, 3-1 Missouri Valley Football Conference) jumped out to 10-0 lead and upped its advantage to 19-7 midway through the third quarter before holding on late. Here’s what we learned about the Panthers Saturday:
