PEORIA, Ill. — Madison Weekly led all scorers with 18 points, Sharnae Lamar hauled in a career-high eight rebounds and the Northern Iowa women’s basketball team beat Bradley 55-47 on Sunday.
Both UNI (12-8, 7-2 Missouri Valley) and Bradley struggled in the first half, with the Panthers holding a slim 20-19 edge at the break. The Braves opened the third quarter on an 8-2 run while gaining a 27-22 lead, but UNI spurted a 9-0 run of its own that eventually became a 33-29 advantage after three quarters of play.
UNI and Bradley (5-15, 1-8) exchanged the lead to begin the fourth quarter until the Panthers countered with another 9-0 run and never looked back.
