TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of Northern Iowa softball team wrapped up play at the Littlewood Classic on Sunday with a 5-2 win over Memphis. The Panthers (8-3) finished the tournament with a 4-1 record, also earning wins over Montana and Michigan State twice.
The Panthers had a chance to jump on the Tigers in their opening offensive series, loading the bases before back-to-back outs at the plate ended UNI's scoring opportunity.
UNI needed back-to-back strikeouts from Ross in the top of the second inning to halt Memphis' scoring chances with a runner on third with no outs.
