The Panthers jumped out to a 9-0 lead to start the first quarter, holding the Redbirds scoreless till the 6:44 mark. The lead would swell as large as 20 in the second half.
Illinois State was able to whittle away at the UNI lead in the fourth quarter to 10, but never could crack within single digits.
