CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI swimmer Olivia Chambers is set to compete in her second major para-swimming event this weekend as she heads to Charlotte, N.C. for U.S. Paralympic National Championships at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center.
Chambers, who is classified as legally blind under World Para Swimming's disability classifications as an S13 athlete, will compete in five events in Charlotte against several of the top para-swimmers in the world, including Paralympic gold medalists Jessica Long, McKenzie Coan, Mikaela Jenkins and Elizabeth Marks.
Chambers will open the meet with the 400-meter freestyle and 100-meter butterfly events on Friday, before competing in the 100-meter backstroke and 50-meter freestyle on Saturday.
