COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- UNI swimmer Olivia Chambers has been named to the 2023 U.S. Paralympics Swimming National Team roster, as announced by U.S. Paralympics Swimming on Tuesday. The team includes 39 swimmers, including Chambers, who is one of two newcomers to the roster from last year.
Chambers, who is classified as legally blind under World Para Swimming's disability classifications as an S13 athlete, broke into para-swimming this past summer when she broke a Para-American in the S13 400-meter individual medley at last July's USA Swimming Futures Championships in Minneapolis.
The Little Rock, Arkansas native also competed in the Para Swimming World Series event in Tijuana, Mexico in October, and became UNI's first-ever para-swimming national champion when she claimed two gold medals in the 200 and 400-meter individual medleys at the U.
