CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The Panthers came close to grabbing their first win of the season but ultimately fell short in two contests on Saturday to Omaha and Iowa State.
After a close loss to Omaha on Friday afternoon, UNI was looking for revenge in its first game on Saturday. An early run from shortstop Kylee Sanders off a Faith Standerski single to left center had the Panthers up in the bottom of the second inning. UNI's defense held strong in the field for the next three innings allowing only two hits with two strikeouts and seven putouts.
