CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- UNI soccer played to its first tie of the season on Thursday against the Omaha Mavericks.
It was a tight game for the Panthers as they battled with the Mavericks over 90 minutes in their first game regular season tie without overtime since the NCAA rule change in April. UNI led just slightly in possession at 51% while also getting five tries at Omaha goalkeeper Mia Reedtz. Panther goalkeeper Caitlin Richards registered her first shutout of the season in the draw with three saves.
Despite not finding the back of the net, UNI had two excellent chances in each half.
