CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team was named as one of 16 teams to make the cut for the 25th annual Preseason Women's National Invitational Tournament, with the Panthers eyeing another successful season on the hardwood in 2018-19.
The selection to the Preseason WNIT is just the second overall in school history, with the first coming in 1999. UNI traveled to Oklahoma State that season, with the Panthers coming up short against the Cowgirls, 73-55.
The Preseason WNIT is an annual invitation-only tournament involving 16 of the nation's top women's Division I basketball teams.
