ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands – The Panther men's basketball team dropped its first game of the Paradise Jam, falling to the Quakers of the University of Pennsylvania 78-71.
The Panthers got off to a solid start to the game, shooting over 58% from the field and taking a 39-34 lead into halftime.
Turnovers and inefficient three points shooting led to the Quakers comeback and eventual victory. The Panthers committed 21 total turnovers in the game, giving the Quakers the additional possessions needed to complete the comeback.
Freshman lead the team in scoring, dropping a season high 21 points.
