AMES, Iowa. – The Northern Iowa track and field team began the 2017-18 season with an impressive outing, as the Panthers placed first in five events to cap action on Friday at the Lied Recreation Athletic Center.
Fresh faces were abundant for the UNI track and field squad on Friday, with nine Panthers making their collegiate debuts. Dianna Slight had a stellar showing in Ames, as the Boone, Iowa native won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.13.
The veterans were on display as well for UNI as juniors Connor Ham and Maddie Bell, along with sophomore Jasmine Blue and senior Chaley Rath took events for the Panthers.
