CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — After racking up its most regular-season wins since 2014, Northern Iowa hopes to transform that success into a lengthy postseason surge.
The Panthers will begin their journey will something extra to prove after missing out on a top-8 seed.
UNI's playoff path begins next Saturday in the UNI-Dome against San Diego at 1 p.m. A win there and the Panthers will head back to South Dakota State on Dec. 7. UNI has won its last five playoff openers dating back almost a decade.
Still, after facing two of the top four national seeds combined with a second-place Missouri Valley Football Conference finish, the Panthers were in position for a first-round bye and a second-round home game.
