CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — Northern Iowa football players have covered the entire emotional spectrum over these last 14 months. From confusion and anger to dejection, despair — and finally excitement, anyone associated with the Panthers program is happy to be off the roller coaster of uncertainty, at least for now.
Back under the UNI-Dome lights, Northern Iowa should have no motivation shortages entering this fast-tracked 8-game campaign.
The action begins at 7 p.m. Friday against South Dakota State — UNI's first game since its quarterfinal playoff loss to James Madison on Dec. 13, 2019. Friday's attendance will top out at 2,715, roughly 16% of the UNI-Dome's normal capacity (16,324).
