CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI Football fell to Missouri State 13-6 Saturday evening in the UNI-Dome.
The Panthers held Missouri State to just 14 first downs and 236 yards of offense, but UNI starting quarterback Will McElvain was out because of COVID-19 protocols and the Panther offense struggled to find a rhythm under redshirt freshman Justin Fomby.
UNI learned Friday that McElvain would not be able to play leaving just 24 hours to prepare to start Fomby under center.
The UNI defense was again stellar. The Panthers forced 12 tackles for loss, led by Jared Brinkman who tallied a career-high 4.
