LAS VEGAS – Alabama rode a second-half surge to an 87-77 win over the previously unbeaten UNI Friday night at the South Point Shootout in Las Vegas.
The Panthers outscored the Crimson Tide 21-16 in the first quarter and 20-15 in the fourth quarter, but struggled to hold off the offensive power of the Crimson Tide. Alabama was 31-58 (53.4%) from the field and 9-20 (45%) from the three-point line in the game and outrebounded UNI 27-21.
Despite the struggles to stem the Crimson Tide offense, UNI had a strong shooting performance. Five players scored in double figures, led by Nicole Kroeger's 12 points.
