Judge Carl B. Boyd wears more than a suit and his black robe when he steps onto the bench at the Cook County Judicial Circuit Court.
Along with years of experience and a mandate from the voters who elected him for a second six-year term, he wears a pride of the school where he became an All-American and came into his own.
“When I put on my robe before I take the bench in the morning, I remember that there is the immediate community that I represent in the state of Illinois, but there is a larger community that is ever-present,” Boyd said.
